Itsy Bitsy Spider...

The challenge this time at 613 Ave C is ATG with an option of Shabby Chic.  Distressed edges, burlap and a take on Art Deco = my version of Shabby Chic. What is fun is the twist of the image - a beautiful witch playing with her pet spider.  A big thank you to  Poppyseed Graphics for providing me this image.
There are some incredible paper artists on 613... I encourage you to hit the link and check out the DT's work!  And then let's see your take on Shabby Chic - or if you rather - ATG!

            Carson's Day!

             Happy Birthday Carson!

This is one of those cards where I vowed to use only things off the top of my desk... I pulled the teenage boy from my duplicate images bag, the sun was one recently colored for another card but would not fit the card design, background paper was in my left over scrap pile, the oval mat was die cut from CS scrap on which I had stamped the "floating music" and the gold paperclip was off my desk.  The sentiment is even stamped on CS left after the die cut!  *giggle*
Needless to say, however, putting sources on all that is going to go by the wayside!
I did 3-D the young man and the sun using Paper Tole techniques [my fave technique!] Both images were colored with Copics- my all time favorite product!

It's not often that I color up an image and have no concept of where I am going with the design.  It came down to the wire last night and pieces finally fell into place.  The final details were the bubbles off a sticker set from the grocery store... LOL!  Ya never know!!!

Aud Sentiments' current challenge is  "Bingo" and there is another week for you to play.  Such an easy one too - choose any row you like - including a diagonal one.  You can submit up to 5 entries for a chance at the prize offered from The Stamping Boutique.   Final date is June 16 for submissions.

Mo Manning Card Series: #2 - June

This is the 2nd card in my series from a set of six.
I am posting one card a month - this is for June.
"Birthday Fairy Lee" can be purchased at Mo's Digital Pencil
              Background for the series:
This is one of a set of cards created for a charity event.  My concept was to use Paper Tole or Paper Sculpting on each one working only with Mo Manning's images.  This is the entire set -
To bring some continuity to the "set" I used 4 basic elements with each card:
              • The base card and envelope are all Kraft CS
              • All the images are Mo's - creating a consistency in style.
              • All six use an identical sized background paper with the bottom one inch hand torn and adhered with a gap.
              • Each will have an elevation to the image by using an average of three sculpted layers for each image.
