TECHNIQUE
[Note: specific information on supplies and sources will be found below under “Supplies”.]
  • For the focal image I used Paper Tole Technique to 3D her body & head. Printed 2 copies, colored them with Copics, fussy cut and 'paper sculpted' the image. The layers are either glued or elevated with foam tape to achieve dimension.
  • The background is scrap white CS that was printed with my sentiment.  It was embossed with an E-folder - once cut to size there was a left over piece that was matted, wrapped with ribbon & placed horizontally as a place for her to sit.
  • Inside is made with leftovers from the front.

National Caffeine Awareness Month...

"Cupid Shooting Arrow" was provided by
Drawn with Character.

Who knew??  I had no idea there was such a thing!
613 Ave C's latest challenge is to celebrate this widely popular occasion with all the masses that gather for parades and coffee bar events country wide!  LOL!  Ok, I will play along... my fave source for caffeine is hot chocolate {at least today it is}!  The DT has some delightful samples to celebrate the cause - check out their take on the theme (ATG /Twist: Use something with caffeine), and enter up to three of your own before next Saturday!

I used a deep chocolate brown base CS in a Z-fold & layered the panels with these wonderful blue patterned papers that a friend was giving away - what is the matter with her??!!  I luvs this paper!  The cuppa hot chocolate [from Melonheadz], was printed twice, colored with Copics & using Paper Sculpting to achieve the curvature, I popped up a 2nd layer of marshmallows and the heart on the front using foam tape.
Here is the Ode to Caffeine on the inside:

March's Birth stone - Aquamarine...

"Chubby Fairy Dream" provided by ADFD
Looove this Chubby Fairy from A Day For Daisies!  It is really nice to see an image of a chubby girl/woman associated with pretty, coy, sweet, innocent...  and I wanted to call attention to that.  So, I used the spotlight technique to focus on her beauty using the "Mega Swiss Dot Circle" rubber stamp.  The oval frame  embossed is from a Darice Embossing Folder and the die cut oval is Spellbinders.
This is my DT card for the current challenge at 613 Ave C - #114 - ATG /optional twist to use Aquamarine.  The team has some outstanding ideas and creativity to share with you... just click on the link.  You have till next Saturday 3/14 to get as many as three entries submitted to be eligible for one of the prizes!  Go for it!

Bingo!

BINGO: Die cut, Lace & Embossing
Wow, fast and easy!  I can see why card makers could have an affinity for these pre-colored images!  When you are needing to crank out some cards in a hurry and don't have the time or inclination to spend hours coloring [as much as I love that]... these images from Heather at My Artistic Adventure are unique, colorful & versatile!
Heather provided each of the Aud Sentiments' DT with a collage sheet of images to use.  I chose "Primitive Folk Art Valentine Clown Bingo Card" for the current BINGO Challenge.  In addition to My Artistic Adventure, Add a Little Dazzle is also sponsoring  - so there will be prizes for two winners this go around.  You have got to see the creative projects the DT have on display - and while you are there, you can add up to 5 entries.  Here is the BINGO card to play - you have till March 10 - give it a go!

Here is a close up that shows the dry embossing from a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing - I used the narrow strip folder and laid it in the middle between the lace.  The die cut was used for the sentiment and it's mat.

Card #1

Just for fun, I whipped out another card using a larger image from the collage sheet: I matted it in black, added a red ribbon and three bingo pieces diagonally - set it at an angle on the base card... voila - I now have TWO birthday cards!  Yea!
