    Super Rainey...

This  is a card for my friend Rainey who has had to start up Chemo again after a 3 month break.  She handles it with a lot of grace.  So far she is like a little super-woman, attacking the little seeds that remain in her body with the Chemo - Kryptonite.  So this is a go-get-'em card for her next day of Chemo.

      Vanessa Vamp...

I have a wonderful sentiment from Ginger's House that amuses me - and I needed the right image to go with.  This image from Aliciabel fit my mental image to a Tee!

The new challenge for 613 Ave C is ATG/Optional Twist: Use Orange & Blue and 2 Neutral Colors.  I have been assigned ATG with an Aliciabel image.  Makes for an easy challenge - anything goes or play along with the color challenge!  The front porch gang put together some great projects this week - you can see their work and check out the specifics of the challenge at the link above.

      IMAGES:
      • The image 'Vanessa the Vamp' was provided for my use by Aliciabel.  You can find it HERE in the Halloween section.  The image has a bat flying in the upper left - but I covered it up with my sentiment.  I wanted a little less cute and a little more class for my woman with a 'tude'!
      PAPER:

      • Neenah "Classic Crest Solar White" 80# Cover Wt. used for the image.
      • DP used for the background & the punched foliage - unknown source.
      • Inside has a simple 'spray' of fern using the same DP from the front in the one corner.

      EMBELLISHMENTS:
      • Martha punch used for the foliage with Liquid Pearls used for the flower buds.
      • McGill punch used for the fern on the inside.
      INKS:
      • "Bundled Sage" Distress Ink used to distress all the edges.
      • Images were printed on an Epson WF-3520 printer

        In My Defense...

I loved how this image turned out - with four Paper Toled layers giving great dimension to her body, head, ribbon and bow.   I am tickled with how her hair turned out - even though her hair is essentially a flat sheet of paper - in real life it looks like you can feel the waves of her hair.  My friend Shani says these are called Marcel Waves - made popular in the 1920's.  If you look at the original drawing below you can see it is the outside outline of the shape of her hair only, without any guidelines for the style.

Sale - Digi Stamp Digital Instant Download Big Eye Girl ~ Patty Cake Image No. 18 & 18B by Lizzy Love
        • This image is "Patty Cake" drawn by Lizzy Love & sold at Oddball Art.  If you like the image - you can find it here and right now I noticed it is on sale for $2.55.
        • For the focal image I used Paper Tole Technique to give her dimension. Printed 4 copies, colored them with Copics, fussy cut and 'paper sculpted' the images.  The layers were both glued in some places & elevated in others with foam tape to achieve the desired dimension. This is what the image looks like before my coloring - the waves were created with Copics.
        • The Sentiment was a freebie from Ginger's House and I think it is perfect for a Belated Birthday!
        PAPER:

        • Neenah "Classic Crest Solar White" 80# Cover Wt. used for the image.

          Even on a Bad Day...

If you like this image, you can find it HERE.
I love the simplicity of this image called 'Bird on My Knee' from Sami Stamps.  It will lend itself to so many occasions from "A Little Bird told me...", perhaps an "I'm Sorry", or "Thinking of You" to using this great sentiment from Ginger's House.

This will be my DT card for the current 613 Ave C's Challenge that is ATG/ Optional Twist is a Masculine Card.  Sami Stamps is the sponsor this go around. To see details on the challenge and a great collection of projects by the very talented design team at 613, click the direct link above.

          IMAGES:
          • For the focal image, I used Paper Tole Technique to give her dimension. Printed 2 copies, colored them with Copics, fussy cut and 'paper sculpted' her head & the bird.  I penciled in a box around her core and then fussy cut the parts outside the box. The extra parts were both glued in some places & elevated in others with foam tape to achieve the desired dimension.  You can see in that elevation in this angle shot.
          PAPER:

          • Neenah "Classic Crest Solar White" 80# Cover Wt. used for the image.
          • DP & the base CS used were hoarded papers from my stash.
          • Mats were created by using the same Copic color for the bird and coloring the edges that would show under the focal panel.

          • Blue Waxed Linen used for book binding was looped and glued behind the panels.
