      Darn It!

I saw this image by Mo Manning and could not stop grinning.  The opportunity it presents to sculpt the layers made me a wee bit giddy!  In this finished piece I can actually put the tip of my little pinky into the thimble and slide things between his pant legs and the spool of thread.  The top of the spool that he is sitting on is also extending out toward the eye.  I so wish I could capture the several intracacies of depth.  This next photo is about the best I can do...
And, this is perfect for a friend who is trying to stitch things together to keep her busy life from falling apart!  Here's to you Kathi!

      IMAGES:
      • This image is "Darn It" by Mo Manning and can be found at her shop - Digital Pencil Too.
      • For the focal image I used Paper Tole Technique to give him dimension. Printed 3 copies,  colored them with Copics, fussy cut and 'paper sculpted' the images with a ball tool.  The layers were both glued in some places & elevated in others with foam tape to achieve the desired dimension.
      • The sentiment inside is a die cut from SU.
      PAPER:

      • Neenah "Classic Crest Solar White" 80# Cover Wt. used for the image.
      • DP used for the mat and the basic cardstock itself are both from stash.
      • The inside was created using leftover papers from the front.

      EMBELLISHMENTS:
      • I decided the only embellishment would be the stitching with a waxed, blue linen, book binders' thread to match the color palette.

        A Thank You Fairy...

'Bitsy Bug Dot' can be found at ADFD

This card shape was created with a recent RAK of a set of dies from a Gingerwood member.  Thank you Paula M. - here is my card made with your gift!  Gingerwood is a Bulletin Board for stampers - and if you are not familiar with it, you might want to check it out!  It's a pretty wonderful group of individuals who have been into the stamping arts for years and who like to share techniques, ideas and sources.  The group is a very easy going, generous group who not only like to send RAKs and birthday cards to each other, but support one another thru personal tragedies!

I am going to use this card as my DT card for 613 Ave C's latest challenge.  It is ATG / Optional twist of using a Color Challenge.  The Fantasy Art of Nikki Burnett  is the sponsor and is providing the prize.  The amazing 613 Team has provided some ideas for you to spark your mojo - and all the details you need to enter the challenge can be found at the link above for 613.

        IMAGES:
        • I was assigned to play ATG with any image & I chose to use a freebie image named "Bitsy Bug Dot" from A Day For Daisies.  Unfortunately she is no longer free, but you can purchase her HERE
        • Sentiment is a die cut by SU.
        • For the focal image I used Paper Tole Technique to give her dimension. Printed 2 copies, colored them with Copics, fussy cut and 'paper sculpted' the images.  The layers were both glued in some places & elevated in others with foam tape to achieve the desired dimension.  You can see that in her skirt and wing here:

        • Neenah "Classic Crest Solar White" 80# Cover Wt. used for the image.
        • DP is from Paper House: Artist Paper Pix
        • Inside was created with leftover paper from the front:
        EMBELLISHMENTS:
How to create a "Folded Card" from two Die cuts:
All of the panels used for the base card, focal panel & mats are all from a Spellbinder's set.  I used two cuts of the largest die to make the base card which are an A2 size.  On the back banner I scored a line 1/2 inch from the top & folded that back.  Next I applied a very heavy duty 1/2 in. double stick tape along the fold and lined up the front panel to attach it.  You can see in this next photo, the back of the card is shorter because of that 1/2 in. portion fastened firmly to the front of the card.

          Second Chance...

I had printed out another copy of the "Dried Flowers" image that I used in the last post from The Stamping Boutique - and being the thrifty soul that I am, I colored it up for a quick birthday card.  Really like how it came out using this great grey background paper with a white script.
The Recollections CS I used for the base is so heavy that it will not stay closed even after scoring and using a bone folder multiple time to burnish the fold.  I ended up using a large arrow paper clip to hold it shut for the photo so you can see that the front of the card is cut short to show off more of that script DP and the three pearls embellishments.  I used left over pink & black CS from my previous post to layer the image for the front.
For the inside I used a Martha S Happy Birthday border punch [punched only once] in left over card stock from the project.  After the sentiment was cut off I still had the piece left for the message.

The image was colored with my Copics:

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Aurora Wings #32 – Fave Color [Soft pink and Grey]

          American Beauty...

The "Dried Flowers" image was provided for my use by the Stamping Boutique

I had originally planned in my head to create the main rose and then overlay the dried rose image over it, but I could not make that work to my satisfaction.  I ended up making a card with the larger rose and creating a bookmark gift using the "Dried Flowers" image as a set for a birthday.
