Tea & Cupcake...

Another Mo Manning image to show - I won five images for a challenge and I went a little giggly wild!  This one I felt was going to be so versatile... I will be able to use for male, female and for many ages.  This one is for a male - so I've left it fairly clean of embellishments.

  • This is called "Dormouse" and can be found at the Digital Pencil Too shop.

    Viking Axe Warrior

    The inside sentiment reads:
"Damned if I do, bored if I don't."

Hubby's ancestors were Vikings - and he is obsessed with that TV show.  Can't think of a better image for his birthday!
613 Ave C's latest challenge is ATG /Twist of CYOC [Create Your Own Challenge.  Kathi developed this series of charts to use for this challenge that is so fun to use!  See the chart below.  The sponsor providing the prize this go around is SLS Lines.

    IMAGES:
    • This image was provided for my use by SLS Lines.  If you like this image, you can use this direct link "Dwarf Axe Warrior"} at SL Scheibe's Etsy Shop.
    • For this focal image, I used Paper Tole Technique to give him dimension. Printed two copies, colored them with Copics, fussy cut and 'paper sculpted' the images.  The layers were both glued in some places & elevated in others with foam tape to achieve the desired dimension.
    • The Birthday sentiment is a very old rubber stamp from a 1992 Country Impressions.
    • Inside sentiment ["Damed if I do, bored if I don't."] is from Ginger's House
    PAPER:

    • Neenah "Classic Crest Solar White" 80# Cover Wt. used for the image.
    • DP from my stash.
    EMBELLISHMENTS:
    • The black "ribbon" was created by cutting a strip off a black sheet of decorative paper that has gold embossed dots on it.  To me they echo the look of the gold rivets used in the construction of the protective gear on the warrior.
    • The sentiment was punched with a McGill oval punch, the edges distressed with a Tim Holtz distressing tool, 'V' cut in three places to enhance the distressed look and finally inked with Copic Cool Greys to bring down the stark whiteness.
    INKS:

    • "Cool Grey" Copics were used to further distress the edges of the sentiment panel.
    • Images were printed on an Epson WF-3520 printer
    • Hand colored with Copics:

      For You...

Ok - I have to admit I really struggle with spatial concepts... I've read that is a common gender issue. Constructing something requiring measurements is a true challenge for me.  Creating layers and placing elements on a project is done strictly by eyeballing it  in my world - but to make this box??  OMGawd!  That took me three times to get all the scoring and cut lines in the right place.  Now you know why, for the most part, I stick to simpler card folds!

But look!  It's a box!  and it's SQUARE!

613 Ave C's latest challenge is ATG / Optional twist of using a Die Cut for the sentiment.  Kitty Bee Designs is the sponsor and is providing the prize.  The amazing 613 Team has provided some ideas for you to spark your mojo - and all the details you need to enter the challenge can be found at the link above for 613.  Join the fun!

      IMAGES:
      • The sweet cow with the flower is called "For You" and was provided for my use by Kitty Bee.
      • For this focal image I used Paper Tole Technique to give her dimension. Printed 3 copies, colored them with Copics, fussy cut and 'paper sculpted' the images.  The layers were both glued in some places & elevated in others with foam tape to achieve the desired dimension.
      • The sentiment was made on my computer & then, to fit the OPTIONAL twist of the challenge, was die cut.
      • The grassy element is Stamp-a-Mania's "Wildflowers #2"/ 2004.  It was stamped twice with two shades of Distress Ink. [See "Ink" below for details.]
      • Fence & the Butterfly are from Martha punches.
      • Flower was created with punches from Punch Bunch
      • "Cutest Cupcake" is by Hampton Art.
      • I think the Balloon is a stamp and die cut from SU - it was left from another project.
      PAPER:

      • Neenah "Classic Crest Solar White" 80# Cover Wt. used for the image.
      • DP is an unknown source.
      • The sentiment element and it's mat were cut with "Artisan Label" by SU
      EMBELLISHMENTS:
      • The Butterfly, flower, cupcake & balloon were all attached with glue dots to strips of acetate cut off recycled packaging.
      INKS:
      • Images were printed on an Epson WF-3520 printer
      • "Bundled Sage & "Forest Moss" Distress Ink used to stamp the Wildflowers.
      • Hand colored with Copics:

        Get Well Barbara!

Awww... poor baby!  A nasty, debillitating head cold!  Mo Manning nailed this image in my opinion!  Pale, bags under her eyes, total bed-head hair, warmies [bathrobe, slippers and jammies never, ever to be seen by company], un-ending supply of tissues and flying crud everywhere!
By the time Barb got this she was feeling better - and she is no longer spewing those things on the background paper!
