Well Read...

It's Monday morning and the reveal for Challenge #160 at Craft Your Passion.  The theme this time is "Well Read" which means you must include  text in the form of background papers or stamps, use reading themed images, or perhaps a sentiment as a focal point.  Easy peasy, eh?

I used two different text stamps for my background and then over-stamped the background with the "Face of Uncle Enos".  I distressed the edges and then went in with three shades of Distress Ink on the edges and to age the paper.  (For details of the exact product used, see the info below).  I made a tag, distressed in the same manner and attached it with a brad and a twine bow that allows the tag to swing out - revealing the sentiment.

A masculine ribbon is held down with three square brads and one more for the corner of the "dictionary page".

The CYP Design Team has made some fabulous samples for you - variations on the theme!  Check them out and then get your own entry ready before the Sunday, May 5th deadline!  Go (HERE) for details and to link your entry.

This card should be eligible for the following
CHALLENGES:
Crafty Sentiment - Monochromatic
Simon Says - Anything Goes
The Paper Shelter #109 - for the Boys
Crafty Ribbon #44 - Anything Goes with Ribbon
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes

SUPPLIES AND TECHNIQUES
IMAGES:  The focal image is "The Face of Uncle Enos" from a 2000 collection of River City Rubber Works; the dictionary page is Rubberstampede; newsprint is Posh Impressions; sentiment is Hero Arts.
PAPER: all CS used is from stash.
EMBELLISHMENTS: brads, ribbon and twine all from stash.
INKS: Distress Inks (Antique Linen, Tea Dye and Walnut Stain) were used to create the age the papers; all the images were stamped with Memento's Tuxedo Black.

May you color with abandon, create wildly and always make what amuses you!
