An Aerocruiser for Lady B...

An Aerocruiser for Lady B provided by Rick St dennis
A little Steampunk makes me smile!  I spent a lot of time on this one trying to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with her.  You can not see the dimension of the balloon or the heart here - but take it from me, they are fussy cut, sculpted and elevated.  I am pleased with the results!

This is my DT card for Aud Sentiments' Challenge 110.  It is an "Anything Goes" theme but this go around we are having a DT Call too!  If you have ever had an itch to try out for a Design Team slot, now is the time!  Go to Aud Sentiments for details on expectations and benefits of a DT and then all you have to do is submit a card and put DT after your name.

TECHNIQUE
[Note: specific information on supplies and sources will be found below under “Supplies”.]
  • I used a "Paper Sculpting Technique" that in this instance consists of: printing the focal image two times, coloring, fussy cutting the heart and balloon, sculpting the individual pieces [dry embossing each individual piece from the back using a large ball tool] and layering with foam tape to maintain the dimension.
  • All the coloring was done with Copics except for the balloon - on which I used Colorbox Chalk ink.
  • The sentiment 'imagine' was rubber stamped on the corner
  • A Calligraphy Fineliner from ArtQuest was used both to apply the Duo Glue for the silver foil added and for applying the opaque white Copic paint to select areas of the basket and the heart.
  • I finished the card by embossing lines into the base CS using a Scor-It - you can see one line to the left of the focal image in this picture on the right - there are two more below the image that can not be seen.

Winter Blues...

Card #1 for "Winter Blues" Challenge is from Nicecrane
WINTER BLUES... the theme this month at 613 Avenue C.  I have two ideas and two cards for this theme - thoroughly enjoyed making both of them!

This first card is using the image "Peter Rabbit & V. Albert" provided by NiceCrane.  Dang but I love her, coloring was a delight!  But, I can't for the life of me think of sentiment to use!!  So if you think of something - leave me a comment!

PAPER:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# Cover Wt. used for the images; DP is from DCWV Winter Magic Matstack

INKS: the images were printed on a Canon PIXMA printer & colored with Copics.

The 2nd card for this theme I used "Owl Balloon" provided by another sponsor - Eureka!  I have a love affair going on with their "Balloons" - so different and so fun!  This one I felt met the challenge theme of Winter Blues with color and the sentiment

TECHNIQUE
  • Base card is A2 with a top fold.
  • Focal image was printed twice, colored with Copics, fussy cut, sculpted and layered with foam tape.
  • Matching waxed linen was tied around the base of the image & left to hang loosely - although it will hold this shape because of the wax unless deliberately moved.
  • Background was created by fussy cutting some of the cloud images from extra DP and attaching with foam tape for dimension.
  • Sentiment was punched and a 2nd layer was punched from the base card CS & used as a shadow mat.
