Have you ever... [oh, of course you have]... opened a gift and found the ribbon or paper so beautiful you can not throw it out? I have saved this ribbon for years, never even untied the bow. I had a concept in my head for a pop-up box card, saw the ribbon and tried it on the box - fit perfectly like it was meant for it! Chose my papers & colors to match the ribbon and I was off and running. "The Gnome Lady" is from QKR Stampede - I have had her waiting to be colored for ages. "Daisy" and "Sunflower" Balloons are from Eureka - the artist has a whole series of animals, flowers, etc all gathered at the bottom and tied off like a balloon. The sentiment and a space for the message are on the back panel.
I created this for the new 613 Ave C challenge... "ATG/ optional Twist: Re-cycle/ Reuse". You have the month of March to show your creative talents! For details of the challenge and for some very creative ideas - check out the DT inspiration concepts HERE!

mailing in an envelope.
The Gnome lady is sitting on a wonderful mushroom and holding one of the balloons on a string. All the balloons are supported by a 1/4" acetate strip re-cycled from packaging for a metal die.

Wow! Now that's an impressive card, Ginny. I am in awe of the planning (and time!) that went in to making this. Your coloring is stunning, as always. Wonderful choice of papers and that upcycled ribbon was made for this project. Your patience paid off to find the perfect new home for it.ReplyDelete

Hey friend! Thanks for visiting my Blog and leaving a wonderful comment on my up-scaled tags. I was really challenged by your theme and I said to myself, "How could Ginny do this to us?"...LOL But I found one tag and 3 more and I thought, here we go! Glad you like it. I am planning to save the pretty tags now and decorate them with my scraps. I can surely use when gifting. Anyway, I am so impressed with your Pop-Up Box Card. I know that it takes time to make considering all the coloring and layering and measuring. But you did a fabulous job and your coloring is truly wonderful. Great job, dear! Have a blessed week!ReplyDelete
