I love this new die - it greatly amuses me! This is my first time to use this 'Birch Tree Window' die from Simon Says Stamp. I was with my little friend Gena, my 13yo neighbor, who immediately wanted me to put an animal peeping out of the trees. We went thru all my animal stamps together - a giraffe? - no - a carousel horse? - no - an alligator? - definitely not! FINally we found this moose ['Stanley' from Mostly Animals - long gone company as far as I know!] that was the right size, but he had his rump to the front and was looking over his shoulder [see the picture below with the full moose stamped on the envelope.] I ended up being able to position him in a perfect position behind trees where you can't see he is back-ass-ward! The next part was finding the perfect backsheet for the vignette - and I found a sheet off my desk I had used for working my Distress inked sponge off for a project. Just a scrap with all these pale yellows, oranges, greens and browns - absolutely serendipitous!
Final step was to stamp my moose once on the envelope and twice on my Neenah [#80 lb., Super Smooth, Classic Crest Solar White] paper. I colored them with Copics and then fussy cut all of one and the head & neck of the 2nd one. The 2nd moose head was then stuck thru the trees so it would be in the front.
In this final pic you can see the dimension of the antlers elevated on foam tape and a hint of the light brown CS used for the very simple inside with my Birthday wishes.

ReplyDeleteNow isn't that just the cleverest card! Tell Gena she had a very good idea with the moose.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love anything birch tree related, and your moose fits right in! So glad to hear you're involving your young neighbor in the process - are you creating another card maker? Thanks for sharing this with us at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Ginny. Thank you for playing along with our Challenge at Penny’s Paper-Crafty. We would love to see you again ... Anet DTx
ReplyDeleteGena and you are an unbelivably creative pair! I am amazed by the thought process that takes two strictly 2D objects and makes them pop into the third dimension. Is the fourth dimension next?
ReplyDeleteOk bye
Beautiful! I love the expression on that moose's face. Thanks for sharing at SOSS
