Viking Axe Warrior

The inside sentiment reads:
"Damned if I do, bored if I don't."

Hubby's ancestors were Vikings - and he is obsessed with that TV show.  Can't think of a better image for his birthday!
613 Ave C's latest challenge is ATG /Twist of CYOC [Create Your Own Challenge.  Kathi developed this series of charts to use for this challenge that is so fun to use!  See the chart below.  The sponsor providing the prize this go around is SLS Lines.

PROCESS INVENTORY

IMAGES:
  • This image was provided for my use by SLS Lines.  If you like this image, you can use this direct link "Dwarf Axe Warrior"} at SL Scheibe's Etsy Shop.
  • For this focal image, I used Paper Tole Technique to give him dimension. Printed two copies, colored them with Copics, fussy cut and 'paper sculpted' the images.  The layers were both glued in some places & elevated in others with foam tape to achieve the desired dimension.
  • The Birthday sentiment is a very old rubber stamp from a 1992 Country Impressions.
  • Inside sentiment ["Damed if I do, bored if I don't."] is from Ginger's House
PAPER:

  • Neenah "Classic Crest Solar White" 80# Cover Wt. used for the image.
  • DP from my stash.
EMBELLISHMENTS:
  • The black "ribbon" was created by cutting a strip off a black sheet of decorative paper that has gold embossed dots on it.  To me they echo the look of the gold rivets used in the construction of the protective gear on the warrior.
  • The sentiment was punched with a McGill oval punch, the edges distressed with a Tim Holtz distressing tool, 'V' cut in three places to enhance the distressed look and finally inked with Copic Cool Greys to bring down the stark whiteness.
INKS:

  • "Cool Grey" Copics were used to further distress the edges of the sentiment panel.
  • Images were printed on an Epson WF-3520 printer
  • Hand colored with Copics:
