Celebrating Spring...

Eureka Digital Stamps provided Flying Girl Holder
designed for use with the Balloon Flowers
Celebrating the 1st Day of Spring - a little sun, a little rain & wind - and lots of green!  A perfect time of year.
It's an up lifting time and this card expresses that feeling for me!

This is my DT card for the new Challenge at 613 Ave. C with the theme of "First Day of Spring - make your own 3D flowers".  With Eureka as the sponsor, I immediately thought of these Balloon Flowers to make.  My 613 teammates have created some great samples to kick start your mojo - so go on over to see their inspiration for you and get more details on  the challenge - HERE.

TECHNIQUE
[Note: specific information on supplies and sources will be found below under “Supplies”.]
  • Manipulated the Eureka images to create 2 different sizes for the Sunflower and then printed out three copies of all the images.
  • Colored all images with Copics, fussy cut, sculpted & layered with foam tape to create 3D flower balloons and the girl.
  • Layered the background paper & 2 different sized punched scalloped circles on the front and again on the inside.
  • Waxed linen thread tied around the base of each balloon and then mounted all four images with foam tape for even more dimension.
  • Carefully adjusted all the threads to the right length, tied a knot and glued under her hand.
This card should be eligible for the following

  1. ~ginny, this card is adorable. I've always loved those shaped balloon images and with your sculpting and gorgeous colouring they look delightful. How fun to use the bookbinding thread and to gather all the strings into her hand. Great layering on the background. Love how she is spotlighted with the layered circles. Sweet!
