Say it with a Flower...

Mo's Challenge Blog's current theme is "Say it with Flowers".  I decided to make a card for a young man in my family, and I thought ONE flower would be manly enough to pass the macho code.  So colors, DP, and embellishments were all duded out, and the only bright color is the single flower in the Giraffe's mouth.
Below you see the tag coming out of the envelope.

I used double sided DP with a design that is reminiscent of a Giraffe's spots.  This was folded in an envelope shape to hold a tag cut to fit.  I used Copics to color the images and Distress Inks were used around the edges.  Punches were used for the vines (a 2nd one in black was punched for a shadow), the fence, the sentiment square and mat and the scalloped plants in front of the fence are from deckle edge scissors.

Sentiment was stamped on a circle tag with a metal edge that swings free from a ring.  A black ribbon and bow were tied on that ring.

This card should be eligible for the following

One Sweet Challenge - fall Colors (see Copic chart below)

IMAGES:  The focal image is by Mo Manning at Digital Pencil Too; Sentiment is from a Hero Arts sentiment collection.
PAPER:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# Cover Wt. used for the images; DP is from stash; base CS is Georgia Pacific
EMBELLISHMENTS: Punches were from Martha Stewart and Marvy Uchida.
INKS: "Crushed Olive" & "Pumice Stone" Distress Inks were used to edge the tag; the sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black; the digital image was printed using a Canon PIXMA printer & colored with Copics:

May you color with abandon, create wildly and always make what amuses you!

  1. Wow Ginny, what a brilliant idea for a card that will be so appreciated by any man, woman or child. I love the giraffe emerging from the envelope - both with so much wonderful detail and lovely colours. The expression on the giraffe's face really makes me smile - he looks singulary unimpressed to have a flower in his dinner (bit like a kid finding greens on his plate). Good luck in our challenge this week. Ingrid (OSAAT Team)
