Alice Chibi...

This image is available HERE
I chose this image to use for the next challenge at 613 Ave C.  I am drawn to any image from Alice in Wonderland... usually the Mad Hatter.
In this case, I immediately saw the Paper Tole opportunities to layer the watches, rabbit and cards- and of course Alice!  The Anything Goes / optional twist of 'Arsenic and Old Lace' challenge is for one week and you may enter up to three times.  Check out the details and the other DT's wonderful interpretations at the link provided above.

By the way,  if you are interested in the definition of "chibi" - Wikipedia explains: "In English-speaking anime and manga fandom (otaku), the term chibi has mostly been conflated with the "super deformed" style of drawing characters with oversized heads or it can be used to describe child versions of characters."  It comes from a Japanese word meaning 'short person' or 'small child'.

      IMAGES:
      • I used a "Spotlight Technique" for "Rory's Skateboard" - in part because I was limiting the coloring for the tutorial, but it is also a way to highlight a focal point.

      • The focal image was fussy cut with a small white border, mounted on foam tape to elevate it.
      PAPER:

        Chick in Pants...

        If you like this image
        you can find it HERE.
613 Ave C starts a new challenge today - ATG /optional twist of a Shaker Card!  The sponsor I get to work with is one of my favorites - A Day For Dasies.  ADFD provided this image for me: "Chick with Pants".  It is well worth your time to see what the DT has done with their images.  Then, submit your own works of art - up to three entries for a chance of a prize.  Go for it!

        PROCESS INVENTORY
        IMAGES:
        • For the focal image I used Paper Tole Technique to give him dimension.  I printed 2 copies, colored them with Copics, fussy cut the top image and 'paper sculpted' it.  The 2nd, bottom layer was fussy cut leaving a small halo of white then it was glued to a scrap of black paper and cut again leaving a small black halo.   The halos allow the image to visually stand out from the background.  [Thanks Bonnie, for this technique idea!]  The layers were glued to each other in some places & elevated in others with foam tape to achieve the desired dimension.
        PAPER:
        • Neenah "Classic Crest Solar White" 80# Cover Wt. used for the image.
        • Recollections "Ivory" for the card base.
        • Watercolor paper used for the background.

        EMBELLISHMENTS:
        • The shear, blue ribbon is tied in a simple square knot & is from stash.
        • Duo glue and gold foil have been added to tiny dots in the background and used to create the sentiment at the bottom.
        INKS:
        • Images were printed on an Epson WF-3520 printer
        • Background created with Magenta's "Nuance" water color crystals - [Jade & Grass Green]
        • Images hand colored with Copics:

This card should be eligible for the following
