Nicolas is NINE...

Black and White and Red... hopefully macho enough colors to over-ride the "cutesy" bug for a 9 year old! I did put the gentleman-bug on a "Wobble" that makes him shake back and forth when tweaked... certain Nicolas will like that!  You can see that better in the close-up below.
I printed out the "numbers" background, colored in the 9 to match the bug, added twine, layered and done!

TOP TIP: Repairing Copic Reds that have bled outside the lines:
Because Copic Reds bleed so easily - (1) I tend to color the reds first - that way if it bleeds beyond repair, I can always start over & won't have wasted the other coloring time. (2) Color inside the lines leaving a margin until you get a sense of how much the reds will bleed outward.  You can always go back and do a light, thin line of color to fill in the margin.  My attempts at rescuing mistakes include: (3) Wait till the red dries, two to three attempts only with the blender pen to push the red back to the line, then again wait till it dries before you repeat the steps.  This is backward from a blending technique, where you want the colors to move into each other.  If you wet the paper too much with the blender pen, the reds will flow into the wet area, extending the "bleed".  (4) If all else fails, I will "fussy cut" the image to get rid of bleeds. (See ladybug above - LOL!)  And of course, the ultimate solution - see number (1) above!
