Charming...

Meet "Annabelle" which can be found here at Make it Crafty.  I've always been drawn to Steam Punk, so I had fun coloring her.

This Monday's  Craft Your Passion Challenge is "Add a little Charm" and the sponsor is The Robyn's Nest.     You can see all of the CYP Design Team's inspiration for you and the challenge rules and deadline HERE.
TECHNIQUE
I colored her with Copics and added shiny silver foil to the skirt "cage" and to the two buckles on her hat and collar.  The key charm was initially meant to go on her waist, but it pretty much disappeared against the folds, so I hung it on a waxed linen cord where it could stand out.  The image panel was set at an angle and off the edge.  A ribbon and bow were added to balance out the sentiment element and the inside uses the alternate side of the DP used on the front.
Specifics of the supplies are listed below.

This card should be eligible for the following
CHALLENGES:
Simon Says Wed – Anything Goes
2 Sisters #163 – Anything Goes
Fussy & Fancy #98 – Punches and Dies (sentiment)

Copy Cat...

This card was for the "Copy Cat" challenge at Digi Darla.  They offered a freebie of a ship and everyone had to use that image in their design.  Sounded like fun to see what everyone does with the exact same image!  BUT, I was too late to get it in the challenge - heavy sigh.

TECHNIQUE
I used a Spotlight technique that suggests someone using a scope to see the ship - simply done by printing two copies and punching a circle from one of them to color.  I used Copics to color  it & then edged the circle with a dark grey.  The hard part was trying to get it perfectly lined up with the base image and glued down.  The final touch was using whiteout as foam on the top of the waves.  The inside was decorated with the same matting.

This card should be eligible for the following
CHALLENGES:
Digi Darla #81 - Copy Cats (TOO LATE< sigh.)
LEJ Designs #72 – Lots of Layers (6 layers)
Clear it Out – Let's Hear it for the Boys /stash: punch

Silhouette...

It was a really nice break from all the coloring I usually do, to create something for this latest challenge.  It took all my willpower to, at a minimum, not color the flowers!  It resulted in a Clean and Simple design - but I think fairly elegant for a Christmas card.

This Monday's  Craft Your Passion Challenge is "No colored image" and the sponsor is the Sugar Kissed Cottage.  They provided images for the Design Team to use and I chose this one called "Silhouette".   You can see all of the CYP Design Team's inspiration for you and the challenge rules HERE.

The image was sized to be quite large on an A2 card with a top fold.  The sentiment from Art Impressions was stamped and punched out as an oval and then modified to it the space better.  Two slider slots were punched in either end for the ribbon.
The inside was layered with leftover CS from the front.
This card should be eligible for the following
CHALLENGES:
Crafty Ribbons #62 – A/G with Ribbon
Paula Holifield Crafts  (ALBC) – CAS
613 Ave C #38 – A/G (op Create your own Color Chal.)

Say it with a Flower...

Mo's Challenge Blog's current theme is "Say it with Flowers".  I decided to make a card for a young man in my family, and I thought ONE flower would be manly enough to pass the macho code.  So colors, DP, and embellishments were all duded out, and the only bright color is the single flower in the Giraffe's mouth.
Below you see the tag coming out of the envelope.

TECHNIQUE
I used double sided DP with a design that is reminiscent of a Giraffe's spots.  This was folded in an envelope shape to hold a tag cut to fit.  I used Copics to color the images and Distress Inks were used around the edges.  Punches were used for the vines (a 2nd one in black was punched for a shadow), the fence, the sentiment square and mat and the scalloped plants in front of the fence are from deckle edge scissors.

Sentiment was stamped on a circle tag with a metal edge that swings free from a ring.  A black ribbon and bow were tied on that ring.

This card should be eligible for the following

Hang on Mimi!!!

When I saw this image from Stamp Fairy,
I envisioned her hanging on for dear life in high winds...
so I sketched out an idea with her holding the edges of her panel and pulling it in.

This card was designed for midweek inspiration for
Aud Sentiment's Challenge: "Autumn - BUT NOT Halloween"
You have another week before the due date - hope you will get crackin' and get your take on the theme submitted!  HERE is where you will find the Design Team's cards and information on the prize offered by our sponsor, Stamp Fairy. They also graciously provided the design team with images to use, such as the one I have here.

Inside

TECHNIQUE
I started with hoarded yellow-gold CS from stash and cut an A2 size top fold base card.  The wonderfully colorful DP also came from stash and I used that to determine the colors for the focal image.  "Mimi" was printed out three times, and once colored, cut for layering and sculpted, I assembled her on the base image panel using foam tape to increase dimension.  Using a Micron pen, I drew in the frame around the panel, making it "draw"in where her hands appeared to grab the edges.  I then cut out the frame in that shape.  The panel was mounted on foam tape to elevate her and allow some of the punched leaves to fly behind the panel.
Leaves were punched from the scraps of background DP and other coordinating papers  and vellums.

This card should be eligible for the following
CHALLENGES:
Fab & Funky #185 - Leaves
Sisterhood of Crafters - Divine Digis

613 Ave C #37 - Anything Goes (optional: Happy Fall Y'all)
OSAAT #181 - Autumn/ Fall

Beyond Grey #39 - Fall Colors (Orange/Yellow/Kraft - inspired by the gourds)
Digi Darla #80 - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiment - Fall Colors
One Sweet Challenge - Fall Colors

SUPPLIES
IMAGES:  The focal image is "Mimi Falltime 5" by Stamp Fairy; sentiment is from Stampa Rosa.
PAPER:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# Cover Wt. used for the images; DP and base CS are both from stash.
EMBELLISHMENTS: Sentiment is an SU punched shape
INKS: Distress Inks and a Micron Pen were used to create the faux frames; the image was printed on a Canon PIXMA printer & colored with Copics:

Autumn Colors...

The new Monday Craft Your Passion Challenge sponsored by Stamp Fairy starts today with the theme "Autumn Colors" The CYP Design Team has some incredible inspiration waiting for you - and you can find those, the challenge rules and the due date HERE.
I chose to use Molly/Sept.  (Thank you to Stamp Fairy for providing the images for the Design Team) and liked the idea of  her jumping into a pile of leaves - that says fall colors to me.

TECHNIQUE
I've started with papers from an Autumn collection, distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz Distress tool and also inked them with Distress Inks.  The two DPs were then matted on a chocolate brown CS.  "Molly" was printed out three times, colored with Copics, fussy cut, sculpted (dry embossed) from the back and finally layered using foam tape.  The leaves are punched out of scraps, rolled through a corrugator and the top of the edges are inked with the Distress Ink.  The pile of leaves was glued or layered with foam tape to achieve the depth.  Finally the SU sentiment was stamped, punched out and matted with SU punches.

inside
The inside was layered with left over papers from the front layout.

Winter Fairy ...

This is Mo Manning's "Winter Fairy".  OMGosh this woman has MAD skills in my opinion!
You can find this image at Digital Pencil Too.

TECHNIQUE
Starting with the base card - I cut off the bottom of the front flap and added the doily punched edge and then two icicle punched CSs were layered and taped on the top edge.  The focal image was colored with Copics, matted and added to the front.  On the inside, I created an explosion page with  the DP - a 6x6" sheet folded in quarters and once diagonally.  Snowflakes, a sentiment and message panel were added to that paper.  Bling added to the front included pearls for each snowflake and glitter glue for his breath.

This card should be eligible for the following

Glitter and gloss...

I don't normally use a lot of glitter and glitz - and although it's not real apparent in this photo, I really went over the edge with this challenge (by my standards!)  I used glitter, bling, Diamond Glaze, Micro Beads and foil.  (This is that game of find 5 things in this picture!)  This card was made for:

The new Monday Craft Your Passion Challenge is up and running with the theme "Glitter and Gloss".  The sponsor this go around is Inky Impressions and they have provided the Design Team with these images to create some inspiration for you.  You can find those really fun cards, the challenge rules and due date HERE.
TECHNIQUE
I used "Angelica Crafting" and "Open Drawer Desk" from Inky Impressions.  The theme and images lead to a craft room... not much other choice in my mind!  So a floor for her to sit on, bright colors for my crafty Angelica - and all the options come with what glittery embellishments to use.  I did print the girl twice, colored her and fussy cut both the images - the girl is then sculpted and layered with foam tape.   The desk is also fussy cut and placed against the "back wall' with a back splash/ bulletin board.  I completed the design with as much glitter & gloss as I could: foil on the hearts on the bulletin board, Diamond Glaze on the hearts strung on the ribbon, bling on her headband, shirt & the tool can, glitter on the balloons on the little card & finally Micro Beads on the "spilled" glue on the floor.

This card should be eligible for the following
CHALLENGES:
One Sweet Challenge - Fall colors (brown, yellow, orange and red)
Pile it On - Tic Tac Toe (For a Child/ Image/ Autumn Colors)

Sentimental Sunday #171 - Something Sweet + sentiment
OSAAT #180 - Use a Digi

 TECHNIQUE
This Fairy Rosie image is from Prairie Fairy Designs and I have done paper sculpting with four layers of the printed image.

Starting with the magnificent Basic Grey Paper, I chose colors for my fairy & used Copics to color the image parts.  They were fussy cut and layered with foam tape to create my focal image.  Assembly then included positioning the vellum stickers on the background, layering the lace and ribbon and sentiment, and finally the focal image.

End of Summer...

Another fave Mo Manning is this image called "Extra".  I was inspired by the DP2 Challenge theme: "Good Bye Summer" to make that the headline for this newsboy.  First step was a decision to use some papers I have been hoarding and make it a monochromatic card.

TECHNIQUE

The top picture makes the base cardstock look dark brown but you can see from the close-up that it is a wonderful shiny copper.  That CS was used for the matting and the corner pieces.  In an attempt to make it look like the boy is on the street, I looked at stamping vintage cars for the background, but settled for the street scene border stamp that creates a "ribbon" behind the image.  I cut it down to the right length, matted it and attached it with two cross stitches using brown waxed linen used for bookbinding.  A third stitch was added in the upper left corner of the image panel.  The focal image was printed out three times and colored with Copics.  The boy's right arm and the newspapers were fussy cut out of two extra copies, sculpted to round them and attached to the original layer with foam tape.  This makes a stack of papers elevated away from his body that, unfortunately, is not reflected in this photo.  The sentiment is computer generated, punched and matted.  Both the image and sentiment panels' edges were inked with Distress Ink and elevated on foam tape for added dimension.
