Christmas in August...

It's about time I started my Christmas cards and gifts... since I make them all.
Should have started these projects months ago, but I always procrastinate and then panic.  STRESS!
This latest challenge at Aud Sentiments gave me the incentive to get going!

sponsored by  StampArtDesign by Kathryne.  Kathryne has graciously provided each of the Design Team members with an image from her store...
mine is "LITTLE BEAR READY FOR BED".
(That link will take you directly to that image in her catalog.)
I encourage you to see the Design Team members awsome interpretations of this challenge!
Specific info on the challenge rules and the prizes along with the Team's projects can be found at Aud Sentiments HERE.

TECHNIQUE
When I first saw this "Little Bear", I immediately remembered this fabulous Canopy Bed that I have had for YEARS (18 to be exact).  And to tell the shameful truth... I don't remember EVER using it.  But see how my mind works?? (And don't be coy, I bet yours does too!)  I knew it would be perfect for something someday.  I digress - back to technique:

I started with the beautiful Christmas DP and matched it up with Kraft CS for the base.  I decided with the size of the bed I would need a square card to fit so the cut was a little less than 5.5" x 5.5" to fit my envelope. The bed was stamped on scrap CS (all supply details can be found below) and the digi image of the bear was printed out three times and colored with Copics in non-traditional Christmas colors that are found in the background poinsettias.   Starting with the bed, the canopy was stamped on a beige vellum scrap for it's transparency, fussy cut and glued over the bed.  The pillows were stamped twice also, sculpted with a ball tool and mounted elevated on foam tape. I hand drew the floorboards, the corners of the panel were rounded and all the edges were inked with "Antique Linen" Distress Ink.  Next was the bear; fussy cut into layers, sculpted and mounted on foam tape to maintain the dimension. The only embellishment is the shear ribbon.
The sentiment was computer generated, punched with an oval shape, matted with a 2nd Kraft paper oval.

This card should be eligible for the following
