This clean and simple card was made with a color blocking technique I saw on a video recently. So easy and a great way to use up scraps. It requires a panel cut down smaller than the A2 base card, lay down several strips of double sided tape and then lay down color strips cut randomly from scraps. Once covered, turn the panel over and cut away any overlap with scissors. The "Crazy Crowns" were stamped on left over pieces and then embossed. At this point they were fancy cut and turned over and dry embossed from the back. This allows the crowns to curve outward and they were mounted with foam tape to maintain the dimension. Gemstones and pearls were added to embellish them and the sentiment was put on a banner and mounted last. Inside is also simple...
This card should
be eligible for the following
CHALLENGES:
IMAGES: The focal image "Crazy Crowns" and the sentiment are both from Stampendous.
PAPER: Base CS is Georgia Pacific; all the other paper from my stash.
EMBELLISHMENTS: Pearls and gemstones are from Pizzazz Aplenty.
INKS: Tim Holtz Embellishing Ink and Versafine black.
Beautiful Jubilee Card ~ love those Crowns!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really great idea for using up scraps and makes a dramatic effect... it has used up nearly all the white space on the front but the design is wonderfully simple. The inside of the card is beautiful enough to be on the front of a card too.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much
