Ornamental Mimi...

One last Christmas card... I liked this one.  The focal image was stamped and then masked, then the green pine sprigs were stamped "behind" the ornament with "Pine" Distress Inks as a base. The main image was colored with Copics, mounted on a dark green panel and then on the base card.  The sentiment was stamped, punched out and floated with foam tape at the bottom. Embellishments include the Martha Stewart punched "lace" on the left, a silver heart brad securing a loop of ribbon, Duo Glue/ foil on the stars and top on the ball and finally glitter glue was applied to the wings.

Urchin with Bird...

This Digi-image from Mo Manning called "Urchin with Bird" is a great NewYear's image I think.  Love the layers - definitely fun to color!  The white base card has a tri-fold and is covered with Basic Grey paper that was punched with the Martha Stewart trellis punch. Next added is the silver elastic ribbon on the front side panel.  The image is colored with Copics, the corners "Ticket Stub" punched, and that panel is mounted on a solid color panel that coordinates with the Basic Grey.  The embellishing bling consists of four faux brads made with Duo Glue and foil as were the snow flakes.  Below is the card opened so you can see the appearance with the side tri-fold and the lattice punch on the inside.

Setting Sail...

Love this retired image by Penny Black -  I was able to find it at PB Stamps where Dick has several retired images... Cool site!  The image (which includes the background images of the sand castle, shells and shovel), was stamped three times, colored with Copics and the 2nd & 3rd image cut out, sculpted and mounted with foam tape.

This angled shot allows you to see the dimension more easily.

Sweet Cheeks...

This digi image is called Sweet Cheeks Peeker by Elizabeth Bell that was part of a WHOLE sheet of rubber images I won from Susanna's Custom Art and Card Design for a challenge!!
Her images are realistic and well drawn and I am thourghly enjoying using them - thank you Susanna!
The background consists of torn scraps from my endless stash and a white lace fence punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  I added the potted flowers to give her something to look at and colored both images with Copics.  Sweet Cheeks and the potted plant were cut out, sculpted and mounted 3-D with foam tape.

Nothing like a Zombie for a pre-teenage boy... and this image from Make It Crafty is especially gruesome!  I know he will love it - what can I say.
The digital image was colored with Copics, cut out and attached with foam tape to the DP layered on black CS.  The orange ribbon was added to help ground the figure.

Trick or Treat m'dear???

Another great image from Mo Manning!  I immediately saw possibilities for her, and decided to use her for my adult Halloween card this year.

I took a tan card stock base card, added a Basic Grey pane, the focal image and punched leaves from several scraps.  The final element is the tag punched out with my computer made message.  The tag has been shaded with Distress Ink to blend with the background paper.

The Hansel and Gretal Witch was colored with Copics, cut, edges colored with a warm grey, sculpted from the back and mounted with foam tape on the background.

Time for a change...

This wonderful  image by Penny Black is one of four retired images I found at a great site called PB Stamps run by Dick Robinson.  Dick has a  section for retired Penny Black stamps that is wonderful!  His service, prices and shipping costs are great and he is very fast with email responses and always mails same day as payment.  I am in love with this web site!

I used shades of oranges to color this image with Copics - sponged the edges with Distress Inks and then layered that panel on coordinating colors from Basic Grey.  The first two panels are floated on foam tape over the plaid and orange embellishments were added to the corners.

Lil' Pink Girl...

This tri-fold card is done with a normal A-2 fold and then folding the cover back in 1/2 again.  I used Basic Grey papers for the panels, added a strip of the pink around the first fold which you can see below.  The image was colored with Copics, fancy cut, edges shaded with a warm grey, sculpted from the back and finally mounted with foam tape.

The only embellishment is the gilding of the ribbon and spots on the package which can be seen better in the third photo.

All the cards...

Sometimes I feel like a little kid again, clutching all the cards I've made... ready to mail.  I really like this image of Tilda from Magnolia.  This card starts with the background watercolor paper which has been sprayed with "Ruby Orange" spray ink from StampZia.  Once dry, I used a Penny Black background stamp inked with "Fired Brick" Distress Ink to stamp the lines and dots, then I tore the edges before mounting.   The chair image from Azadi Earles was stamped, colored, fancy cut, sculpted from the back and finally mounted with foam tape.  Tilda was stamped twice, colored with Copics, cut out in layers and paper sculpted to make her 3D using foam tape between layers.  Finished it off with "Hero Hues" dots glued on several places on the background.

WINNER: Aubry's Cupcake...

WINNER!
I just discovered this entry won the Copic Creations Challenge #57: "Pretty in Pink"!  I am so looking forward to seeing what my prize will be.  Yea!

A little CupCake Fairy for my youngest granddaughter!  Aubry is a girly-girl and loves pink and glitter... this is for her!
The CupCake Fairy is by Mo Manning - she is colored with Copics and embellished with foil.  The edge of the image panel is sponged with Distress Inks.  The pink frame is cut with a Sizzix Die Cut.  This image is then floated on some panels of Basic Grey paper on which I added faux stitching.  I cut out a flower from extra paper, sculpted it and added it to the lower right.

This next image reflects the foil and glitter on the wings and the sprinkles.

Hugs...

Another back to school for the grandkids... with 4 grandkids there is a lot of that going on!

Started with running the base card  thru a CuttleBug folder and also the next panel after sponging the CS with Distress inks.  The image was printed out twice , colored with Copics, cut out, sculpted and finally mounted with foam tape.  This is "Digger the Mole" on the edge of a flowing creek -  a digital from Spyder's Corner. The view below shows the 3D of the  sculpted image and the added  butterflies punched from Basic Grey DP.

Zum-Zum...

This recessed window card was easier to make than it looks -
a booger to mail though!
The base DP was embossed with a CuttleBug folder then the window was created.  The Hummingbird (Zum-Zum) image  from Inkadinkado was colored with Copics, cut out and floated in the background. The flower was punched out twice, edges distressed with Distress Inks and held together with a brad.  Pearls and ribbon were added for extra texture and balance.

Oh no, Dean!

Oh my gosh, Cousin Dean fell down the stairs and broke his wrist, injured other parts and is achy - breaky!  This is after an assault in a nearby park that left him multi-injured.  I wrote in his card I felt like I needed to"tie him down" to keep him safe!  Thus the odd embellishments.

The bear was stamped twice, colored with Copics, cut out, sculpted and mounted with foam tape to keep it 3-D.  The panel's edges are embossed with a Score-It to frame the image, and then floated on top of the Basic Grey DP.  The base CS is embossed with a CuttleBug folder.  Two slots were punched in the spine of the card and two holes punched in the front of the base card to accommodate the twine. It needed masculanization.  (Say what?)

This close-up lets you see the 3-D effect more clearly.

Back to School Magnolia style...

Needed a little girl "back to school" image and went with this image of "Tilda" from Magnolia who was holding a bird in a cage... altered it to make it more applicable.  The ABC image was stamped and then punched out - edges was colored with Distress Ink and then floated over the bird cage.  Made the card base a gate-fold, embossed lines with my Score-It and added DP from Basic Grey.  The same paper is layered on the inside.  Tilda was colored with Copics in primary colors.  A gold metal paperclip was added to enhance the "school" theme and a blue ribbon to mimic her bow and for added texture .

Here is a view of the fold and the interior...

Back to School...

I have used this image before... it is one of my favorites by Mo Manning. It seems to scream: "I need reassurance before I start school!"  The image is colored with Copics and then layered on DP from the Basic Grey "Oliver" Pad.  To CASE Dawny's sketch for the Simon Says Challenge I punched out circles and mounted them along the edge of the image panel on one side to mimic scallops and added a punched form on the left for the sentiment. The image panel was then floated on foam tape

Reese and Shane...

I was really struck with the similarity of these boys to Reese and Shane, my grandsons.  So this card is for them with the message reading: "Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a SUPERHERO!"  The image and sentiment are both from Mo Manning at The Digital Pencil - some of my very favorites! I colored the image, the square corner brads and the twine with Copics.  The top panel is floated on foam tape.

Little Rain Girl...

This top fold base card was put thru the CuttleBug with an embossing folder, the Sissix die cut scalloped frame and the ribbon embellishment make it eligible for the Crazy 4 Challenges C4C101 "Bingo".  (See all challenges below)  I layered DP behind the frame and then sculpted and floated my focal image on top with foam tape.

Whoops!...

Finally gave in and broke out some new DP instead of using just my desktop scraps.  Next step is to throw all that's left away!  Sassy Cheryl's Digi "Whoops" is my focal point floated with foam tape on layers of coordinating DP.  Faux stitching on the right margin and a ribbon finished my embellishments.

Pink and Brown Birthdays...

Another "use up the scraps on my desk" day... this could last for weeks if I let it.  At some point I NEED to just throw all those left overs away and start fresh!  This card started with a challenge to use Pink and Brown...   No problem - I have a bunch of that on this desk somewhere...
The image is a Digi colored with Copics.  I layered on brown and pink CS and a layer of DP - and found 3 pink "button" brads that finished off the details for me.

On the Farm...

Using scraps off my desk!  Yea!  Every bit of this card used CS in the ever growing pile on my desk of left over scraps that I can't bear to throw away.  Curse of the paper artists!  The Digital Tuesday challenge: "On the Farm" was to use a Digi in a farm theme.  I had a tractor stamp and two digis (one called "Our Love's Poultry in Motion" and a basket of eggs)  in my collection that seemed to fit the bill.  Both these Digis were freebies - and unfortunately I did not keep track of where I got them. (HINT: I now have a solution to this problem and I keep all Digis in separate files labeled with the name of the web site or the artist.)
I used the green DP scrap as a field with faux stitching to give it definition.  This qualifies then for Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #77- Stitches.. real or faux  The tractor was stamped with Distress Ink in a color to blend into the background.  The two Digis were colored with Copics, cut out, sculpted and floated on foam tape.  Finally I used a flower punch on the remaining green scraps and added as "crops" in the foreground.
