Holy Cluck!

This image & sentiment can be found here.
Ok- this made me giggle!
The image is by Bugaboo Stamps and is actually only the three chickens across one row... but I made four copies of the image and "stacked" them for more of a visual impact.  Details of the process can be found below.

This card is my DT card for 613 Ave C's latest challenge - ATG.  You can find some fabulously creative work from the Design Team and details of the challenge at the above link.  The Sponsor's are Bugaboo Stamps & Di's Digi Stamps, each of whom is providing a prize for this challenge.

PROCESS INVENTORY

IMAGES:
  • Bugaboo Stamps provided "Chickz - Holy Cluck" for me to use for this challenge. The image includes the sentiment.
  • The pennant is a rubber stamp from Hero Arts.
  • For the focal images I used Paper Tole Technique to give them dimension. Printed 4 copies, colored them with Copics, fussy cut with a narrow white border and 'paper sculpted' each by dry embossing from the back.  The layers were stacked as if the Chickz were on bleachers with the bottom edge glued & the top of each image elevated with foam tape to achieve the desired dimension.  You can see that in this photo:
PAPER:

  • Neenah "Classic Crest Solar White" 80# Cover Wt. used for the image.
  • The papers on the cover and in the interior are both from The Paper Studio's 'Back to Basics' collection.
EMBELLISHMENTS:
  • White Gel pen
  • White 'topping' on the ice cream is ???
  • Pink & red heart confetti from stash & applied with a dot of  Glossy Accents.
  • Candi was painted green with Copics and used to anchor the ends of the sentiment tag.  The center of the tag was elevated on foam tape to provide the curvature.
INKS:
  • Images were printed on an Epson WF-3520 printer
  • Hand colored with Copics:

    Easter bunny...

My friend Suzanne came over the other day prepared with all the makings for this sweet Easter bunny card that she found on Pinterest!   All the parts of the bunny and the embellishments were made with punches.  The face is an upside down heart which I found very creative.  I colored the inside of the ear, the cheeks and the nose pink with Copics.  I did use pink Washi tape under the border punch and the little rabbits as well as the Cherry Blossoms are from my own punches.  I added white in the eyes from a gel pen, hand drew the whiskers and finally, the only stamping, is the sentiment [by SU].

So!  Grandkids are going to get an Easter card afterall!  Thanks Susie Q!  And if it wins a challenge, the prize is yours!  LOL - fingers crossed!

          Tears of a Clown...

Every once in awhile you spot an image that grabs your attention.  Tears of a Clown did that for me. Could be kind of a downer for a Get Well - but combined with the upbeat sentiment on the inside, I think it works.
          See the inside below:
"So we can clown around again!

This is my DT entry for 613 Ave C for the current challenge that will run till Sat. 3/19.  This is an ATG /optional twist of using a clock [in honor of Daylight Savings Time].  You can submit up to three entries for a chance at a prize from Scrapper's Delights.  The DT has put together some WONderful examples using the sponsor's images - you can see their work and enter the challenge at the 613 link provided above.

          A wheelbarrow full of wishes...

          IMAGES:

          • This image is one I started coloring months ago.  It has been sitting in my partially done pile - and now that I was inspired to finish her, I have misplaced the artist's name.  If you know, clue me in?
          • I hand printed in the "Wishes" in the wheelbarrow, colored it with green copics, added duo glue over the top and finally added the gold foil.  That combo seemed to add a lot of depth to the word.
          PAPER:

          • X-Press It used for the image.
          • Green CS from stash used for the A2 card base and mats.
          • Inside has an oval punched sentiment that is raised on foam tape.

          EMBELLISHMENTS:
          • Duo Glue and gold foil used for lettering and her boots.
          • Dark green waxed linen thread [from stash] sewn thru the image panel.  Holes punched with a 1/16 in. round hole punch.
          • Lace paper 'ribbon' is from SU
          • Grass & sky created with flicks of Copics.
          • Three "Candi" buttons were colored with Copics to match and added for composition balance on the front and one Copic colored "Candi" added to the inside.

            Sympathy...

Hardest card in the world to make... when your heart is heavy it is so hard to think of something appropriate.
I wanted a simple design so I chose this rubber stamp flower by Magenta that is shaped like a heart.  The image is embossed with "Starry Night" Embossing Powder by Stamp-n-Stuff .  This black EP has wonderful gold flecks in it that you can see in the close-up below.  The angle is different and it catches the light differently.

I used Color Burst concentrated watercolor crystals to give the very vibrant colors you see here.
The image was then cut out & mounted on large foam dots to give it dimension.
The sentiment, from River City Rubberworks, and a final touch of shear ribbon were then added.  [Unfortunately, I did not straighten the ribbon before the pic was taken.]
