Owl always love you...

Wanted to send a simple note card to my daughter with just a note of love and support... and I liked the sentiment of "Owl always love you".  So stamped this owl called "What a hoot", colored  him with Copics, added "Dot Flourishes" in the corners and used Distress Inks all around the edges. Finished it off with a blue ribbon mounted on Kraft paper, really small button brads and then used Duo glue and foil on the dots.

WINNER Pop-up Scrapbook card...

This is the finished card for a class I will be teaching on Pop-ups.  First let me give credit to Sandi Genovese who was the inspiration for my version of this card. Second, I have to apologize for the out of focus photography.  Because of the pop-ups, I was able to get part of the card in focus, and then everything else was OUT of focus.  I don't have a clue how to make that really work when I am doing close up photography. Also, the angle makes some of the layers look crooked... and I swear, they aren't!

With all that out of the way - the cover is decorated with layers, a LOVE stamp with a heart brad in the O, Candi buttons down the left, and finally a Belly Band to keep it closed.  The spine of the cover is a good 1/4 inch wide to accommodate the bulk of the contents - you can see that here:.
These next three pictures are the inside pages (held open by a wooden easel leg!)
All the pop-ups were cut by hand.

My favorite photo is of Aubry sitting with her legs crossed, sipping cocoa.
The arrow is pointing to her - it is the one fancy cut.
That photo is "sitting" on one pop-up
and is "leaning" against a smaller one behind her back.

In this final photo you can see some of the pop-up dimension.

Dancin' & Singin"...

The Mo Manning image "Georgia" is such a good one for the "Dancing and Singing" challenge!  Absolutely fun to color with Copics - but not so fun trying to fancy cut around that hair!  I stamped her three times, colored her, fancy cut three layers, sculpted from the back to round her & increase the dimension.  Layers were then mounted with foam tape to maintain the shape.  All the background DPs are Basic Grey.  Punched strips and ribbon "anchored" with Candi, finished the embellishment.  The inside is layered with the left over DP.

Goth Guy... or is he?

This guy is more Steampunk than Goth - but "Oliver" from Make It Crafty, is the closest image I have for a "Gone Gothic" challenge at Craft Your Passion.  My biggest problem was to make it dark enough to be Goth.  I Layered blues and grays 'cuz I still wanted to see the detail of his clothes - but true Goth should be much more black. Next I put all kinds of mini words on the DP and then used a brick wall embossing folder by Tim Holtz to make the background panel.  You can see some of that detail in the upper left quadrant.  All corners punched / rounded and silver brads added for minimal embellishment.

This card should be eligible for the following
CHALLENGES:
Craft Your Passion #118 - Gone Gothic
Top Tip Tuesday #80 - One For Men

Top Three! Hello Poppies...

This is a CASE of a beautiful card made by Joy Taylor. I fell in love with it - and had to make my version.  Unfortunately I have lost the site where I saw it- so if anyone knows where that was located - please let me know.  Soooo simple - white on white:

* Punch or die cut an image out of the edge of a panel that is cut 1/4 inch smaller than the base card.

* Decorate it CAS and mount it 3-D with foam tape.

* Color a focal image, fancy cut and also 3-D mount it on the base card - that makes it flush with the top panel.

Jogging with Music...

A little Jogger in her matching sweats still manages to be girly with her colorful earphones and music source.  She was colored with Copics, fancy cut, sculpted from the back and mounted 3-D on a spring  (called a "Wobble") that allows the image to wiggle wildly when tweaked. A ribbon and metal "faux brads" were added for embellishments and that was mounted on the music DP.
